West End Leave Cup in Dismal Manor
An unfamiliar looking West End side crashed out of the Jock Mitchell Trophy in disappointing fashion at home to Manor United Reserves. West End’s cause wasn’t helped by the loss of goalkeeper Andy Taylor with a vroken finger early in the match, with Andy Kirk deputising in goal. Glen Wilson also limped out of the midfield midway through the second half, but by then the game was already lost despite Ollie Boden’s consolation goal for West End.
Starting Line-up (4-4-2): Andy Taylor; Jez Ashberry, Shaun Hepple, Gav Sumner, Rob Bartrum; Andy Kirk, Glen Wilson, Joe Harper, Phil Lodge; Matt Lawley, Rich Dungworth
Substitutes: Sam McDonnell, Ollie Boden, Jay Waplington

To the Manor Reborn
West End bounced back from their heaviest ever defeat with one of their most clinical displays to date as they outshone Manor United Reserves on the West Common. The visitors started the stronger and stand-in keeper Glen Wilson was called on to deny three one-on-one opportunities in the opening fifteen minutes. The storm weathered West End then produced a scintillating attacking display with goals from Sam McDonnell, Rich Dungworth (2) and John Moore helping them into a 4-1 lead at the break.
In the second half Manor fought their way back into the game with one well taken effort and one fortuitous one as a long hoof downfield from the visitors captain was misjudged by Wilson, bouncing over the stranded keeper to make it 4-3. However, West End deserved the win and added a fifth goal through Sam McDonnell to secure all three points.
Starting Line-up (4-4-2): Glen Wilson; Dan Cain, Shaun Hepple, Jonny Dyas, Jez Ashberry; Stephen Pearce, Andy Kirk, Phil Lodge, John Moore; Sam McDonnell, Rich Dungworth
