Impressive West End Complete Burtons Double
AFC West End produced arguably their best performance of the season to see off a Burtons Reserves side who for the first twenty minutes of their clash at Sobroan, wouldn’t have believed it possible that they would end the game without all three points. An early goal put West End on the ropes and the game was in danger of passing them by, a couple of breaks that exploited Dan Hill’s pace were all AFC could offer with Burtons taking control of the game.

Central midfielder and occasional casual central defender Joe is one of only two remaining founder AFC West End members still playing for ‘The Beers’.
The plastic Australian would have an outside chance for the club’s record appearance honour had it not been for work commitments and a succession of injuries during the clubs first three seasons. After recovering from knee surgery Joe famously missed much of the 2006-2007 season with a broken hand… sustained punching the floor in frustration during a 1-0 defeat at Branston Reserves. However, when in action Joe contributes significantly to everything good that West End does. A hard-working ball-winning midfielder Joe can also be relied on to get himself on the score-sheet and sits in fourth place on the club’s all-time list with an impressive 32 goals from midfield.
Joe has been at the forefront of the clubs business development working in conjunction with Scream, Walkabout and InterSport to secure impressive sponsorship deals for the club. He has also contributed as assistant manager and captain in his time with the club.
