Formed in 2004 by a number students at the University of Lincoln, AFC West End began their existence playing friendlies against faculty and society teams from the University. Encouraged by their performances in matches against regular foes the Christian Union and the Law Society the club’s founder members elected to take their football to the next level, and applied to join the Lincoln Sunday Football League for the 2005/06 season.

Five years on from their competitive bow away at the now defunct Red Lion Dunston Reserves, AFC are set to compete in Division Four of the Sills & Betteridge Lincoln & District Sunday Football League.

Walkabout Lincoln

AFC West End’s club sponsor is Walkabout Lincoln. Following the closure of the Quayside bar in the summer of 2010 Walkabout stepped in with a generous sponsorhip offer. All club training and kit wear is now branded with the Walkabout logo, and all club social events are hosted at Walkabout. The bar contiuned their support, renewing their sponsorship in the summer of 2011.

InterSport

In 2007 Intersport, High Street, Lincoln became kit sponsors of AFC West End, supplying the team with a new navy blue hummel home strip. Continuing their generosity in ahead of the 2008/09 season Intersport provided the club with a new Orange hummel away strip. Now in 2011, AFC have renewed their agreement with Intersport as supplier of their all new true blue home strip.
