Bassingham FC 0-1 AFC West End
AFC West End heaped misery on Division One strugglers Bassingham by dumping them out of the Ron Eaglen Challenge Cup. James Dewhurst took charge as stand in manager with John Purdy away on hockey duty.
Harry Rickels scored the only goal of the game in the first half as West End progressed to round two. The game sadly was marred by a referring performance both teams agreed ruined the match as a spectacle. Nothing though could take the shine of a good cup victory and a welcome distraction from league woes. Man of the Match went to Rob Davies who played his last game before returning home to Nottingham.
